Templo De Juchitan

A WEEK OF MIRICALES! This email could be a couple pages long but I wont do that to you guys. I know you got pages of other missionary emails to get to. FIRST AND FOREMOST QUEEN CREEK ARIZONA TEMPLE!!! Lets goooooo! The next thing... for those of you who don’t  know where Im serving my Mission, I'm in Oaxaca Mexico, and more specifically the area Juchitan de Zaragoza. There probably aren’t many people who know or care where the heck Juchitan de Zaragoza is, but I do know the LORD CARES! The first new Temple announced out of 17 was the Juchitan de Zaragoza Temple!

When the Prophet announced the Temple my companion and I just instantley look at each other and our jaws dropped, but for some odd reason not a single person in the church where we were watching reacted... quite odd for such BIG news. Heres what happened... My comp and I were listening with airpods in (or as every mom and dad calls them "Earpods") English. But the translator in Spanish messed up and didn’t say the first temple announcement OUR TEMPLE. So for a solid 15 minutes we were losing it while everyone said nothing. Until during the middle of the Prophets talk a man stood up and shouts "WE GOT A TEMPLE! THEYRE BUILDING A TEMPLE IN JUCHITAN" The gasps of joy are something I'll never forget.

The week prior to this one the stake took a trip to the temple 4 hours away from our city. The following Sunday when the returned they had a small testimony meeting sharing some of their experiences at the temple. I heard stories of 60 and 70 year olds attending the temple for the first time in their lives. Tears streamed down their faces because they will no longer have to travels hours to attend and make covenants with their Heavenly Father. Theres not a more deserving people!

I dont have many stories to tell but this week we were hit with a little tropical storm. There was water up to my knees... which is like water up to a mexicans waist. Still crazyyyy! But... the work must go on! We trucked through and had amazing lessons.

Something I've been thinking about a lot was sparked by something my mom said when the temple was announced where Im serving. She said "The Lord is always near. This meant so much to me to know where you are is just as close to the Savior as we are." Friends and family THE SAVIOR IS ALWAYS NEAR! In Juchitan Mexico or Gilbert Arizona, Baltimore Maryland(shout out T Hatch! Miss you brotha) or Sao Palo Brazil(Lets goooo Rooster!) The Lord isnt just near hes standing by your side holding your hand and in the hardest times he tells us to wrap our arms around his neck and let him carry us. Who ever you are where ever you might be in the world and where ever you might be in your relationship with the Savior hes there! Dont you dare forget that!

I love you all more than you know! If you didnt have the time to watch conference, may I suggest taking the time and listening to just one conference talk a week! There was life changing things said, one of my favorites was from Dieter F. Uchtdorf-"Faith is not faith if never tested" remember that in times when your faith is being tested!
*Ether 12:6

Didnt think I would forgettt did you! Remember you have a Heavenly family waiting for you to return to them one day! And they love you more than you know! Send me emailssss its the best!!!!
