Green Cards, Ants And A Hurricane

WHAT A WEEK!!! 18 hours on buses and taxis later I’m back in Juchitan! I got to spend a couple days with some of my friends from my MTC district as we made our way back to the city for our green cards! It was nothing short of an absolute party! It was absolutely beautiful and so different than Juchitan. There were buildings made out of WOOD! Craziness.

Funny story for the week! This Sunday there weren't any young men to bless the sacrament soooo ya boi had to step up and do the dang thang. If you know me very well, you know I’m the kid who ended up saying the sacrament prayer 4 times because I couldn't get it right. If you can imagine that then imagine how I was feeling preparing to say the prayer in Spanish...as I knelt down to say the prayer and opened the microphone, ants began flooding out! I’m not sure from where or how but here I was, ants crawling up my arm mumbling the sacrament prayer in Spanish. That'll be a core memory from my mission. For some odd reason they don't prepare you for things such as this in the MTC.

Side note... got some news that there might be a hurricane headed our way! I won’t explain the logistics because it wouldnt sound as cool if I said it was a category 1 hurricaneBUT STILL CRAZY. Andddd we have ac this week so IM HECKA HYPE!!!!!

I didnt think I would have much to share spirituality this week because I really wasn't in my area for most of this week. I had exchanges in an area an hour from mine on Tuesday and then was gone from Wednesday to Friday in the city. But as I was on the phone with my momma today she opened my eyes to some things I hadnt thought of. If you don't know my momma she’s kinda good at that kinda stuff. She the best mom ever... sorry everyone else! We were just talking about some of my experiances here in Mexico, good and bad. She talked about how we don't understand a lot of things until we experience them. This is going to seem like an unrelated note but I promise it is, just stay with me. This week I chose a Christlike attribute to work on. And I’d consider myself a quite humble person but I really felt as though humility is what I should work on. I’ve learned that as you pray to be more humble or more kind or more patient the Lord blesses you with opportunities to be more humble or be more kind or be more patient. My humility has been tested this week FO SHO! I’m coming to know that our trials are an opportunity to be more humble and learn to turn to Christ in moments of tribulation. As a wise friend emailed me this week, "our trails are an opportunity for God to mold us into an instrument in his hands" if we are humble enough to let him! HERES THE CORRELATION! I’ve never been through more experiences that have required me to have more humility. To understand that its not our will, its the Lords. I’m on the Lords errand! AND SO ARE YOU! Dont forget that!!!

Love you all! So does your Heavnly Father! Keep truckin! And keep sending me emails it’s the highlight of my week!
